IAES members were deeply saddened by the news of Sriwijaya Air crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with the passengers who have lost their lives, and with all their families and friends.
Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 (SJ182/SJY182) took off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia to Supadio International Airport, Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Shortly after take off, the plane reportedly crashed into the sea around Kepulauan Seribu area. The aircraft was carrying 62 people; 50 of which were passengers.
