Ahmad Dahlan University lecturer, Prof. Tole Sutikno, has again achieved a proud achievement by being selected as one of Stanford/Elsevier’s Top 2% Scientists, according to a ranking released on September 16, 2024. This recognition is clear evidence of Prof. Tole’s contribution to the academic world, both in the single year ranking and all year ranking categories, which assess the impact throughout his academic career.
In the single year ranking category, Prof. Tole is ranked 327th, based on data from Scopus collected on August 1, 2024, covering citation data until the end of 2023. The single year ranking assesses the impact of scientists based on the number of citations obtained in the past year, providing an overview of the scientist’s contribution over a more specific time period.
Of the 150 Indonesian scientists listed in this category, Prof. Tole also made it into the top 40 Indonesian researchers in the all year ranking category, which calculates the cumulative impact of a researcher’s long career. All year ranking, on the other hand, assesses the performance of scientists throughout their academic careers, by calculating the cumulative number of citations obtained from various published scientific works. This provides recognition of the overall impact made by a researcher throughout his/her long career in academia.
Stanford/Elsevier’s Top 2% Scientist Rankings is a list of the world’s most influential scientists, calculated based on the number of Scopus-indexed citations. The ranking identifies scientists from 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields using standardized citation metrics, providing a snapshot of the world’s most influential researchers.
The list includes a total of 223,252 scientists worldwide, with 150 Indonesian-affiliated researchers making it into the top 2% in various fields. This achievement emphasizes Prof. Tole’s significant role in the global scientific community and gives pride to Universitas Ahmad Dahlan and Indonesian academics.
This achievement not only confirms Prof. Tole’s position but also strengthens his position. He was one of the leading scientists, but also emphasized his commitment and dedication to producing scientific works that have a broad impact, both at the national and international levels.
