Overview of Australia Awards Scholarships
Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) is the Australian Government’s prestigious international scholarship program for future leaders to pursue a Master’s or PhD degree at a leading Australian university. Since 1953, this program has been a major component of the Australian Government’s aid to Indonesia. Through study and research, scholarship recipients can expand their skills and knowledge, drive positive change, and strengthen the long-term relationship between the people of Indonesia and Australia. To see the benefits of the AAS, you can visit this page.
Scholarship selection is based on professional qualities, academic ability, and potential contribution to addressing development challenges in Indonesia. The program offers a range of benefits, including pre-departure English language and academic training, as well as professional development and networking activities to enrich the recipient’s experience during and after study. In addition, AAS provides inclusive support for people with disabilities to ensure equal participation for all recipients.
Scholarship Conditions:
- Applicants need to sign a contract with the “Commonwealth of Australia” stating that they will abide by the terms of the scholarship.
- Scholarship recipients are required to leave Australia for a minimum of two years after completing their scholarship. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship recipient incurring a debt for the total scholarship fees collected.
