Ajinomoto Indonesia, through the Ajinomoto Foundation, provides scholarship assistance to outstanding Indonesian students who are competitive enough to continue their master’s studies in Japan at several designated universities and departments, including:

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Indonesian Citizen.
- Has graduated or is expected to graduate with an excellent academic record (with 16 years of education completed or expected to be completed) and must receive a recommendation from the university rector or academic advisor or meet the qualifications to apply to the university.
- Achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher at the last university attended.
- Applicants must be under 35 years old by April 1, 2025.
- Applicants must submit an application and follow the selection procedures set by Ajinomoto Indonesia.
- Applicants must be in good physical and mental health, possess outstanding personality traits in the academic field, and have a strong motivation to learn.
- Applicants are not allowed to receive other scholarships.
- After being declared successful in the final selection of the scholarship by Ajinomoto Indonesia, applicants must be able to:
• Obtain acceptance approval either as an international postgraduate research student (hereinafter referred to as “Research Student”) or as a postgraduate school student (master’s program) (hereinafter referred to as “Master’s Course Student”) from the University and be registered as a Research Student or Master’s Course Student for April 2026 or October 2026 .
• Have adequate Japanese language proficiency required for research and study in the master’s program when applying as a Master’s Course Student.
• Obtain a passport and student visa to Japan.
Scholarship coverage:
- Research Student at the graduate school: ¥150,000/month (maximum for 1 year).
- Master’s Course Students at the Graduate School: ¥180,000/month (for 2 years).
- Exams, admissions, and tuition fees: fully covered.
- One-way flight ticket from Indonesia to Japan.
The number of students to be accepted:
- One (1) student from each of the six (6) countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Russia.
Scholarship Period:
- If the scholarship recipient enrolls as a research student, the scholarship will be granted for a maximum of 3 years (1 year as a research student and a maximum of 2 years as a master’s program student). The scholarship will be suspended if the scholarship recipient fails to pass the entrance exam for the master’s program within one year of arriving in Japan.
- For Waseda University, in principle, the scholarship will be granted for studying for 2 years as a master’s program student.

- Prospective students who pass the final selection must submit all the required documents as specified by the graduate school or university they wish to attend during the registration period. For details, please check the respective university’s website.
- Prospective students who will be applying in October must pay attention to the registration period and the issuance date of the acceptance letter because the registration period and date differ from the April registration. Please contact the graduate school you wish to attend for more information.
- This program is intended for Indonesian students FREE OF CHARGE. Ajinomoto Indonesia never charges any fees for the Ajinomoto Scholarship Program 2025.
